I'm proud to announce a new limited series of hand screen printed garments. This image is derived from a political propaganda campaign card that was circulated in NYC and other parts of the U.S. in the late 1860s. The purpose of “the Negro and the Carpet Bagger” image, and message, was to create fear among white voters that Black people and northern businessmen were going to create a government that focused on equity and equality.
